Isabella Duckworth Lima Pinto performs Threw up in your mouth and lied and Skjold Rambow performs Painting With the colors of jealousy to change the blank canvas from Taboo into Golden hour with music composed with his band Jealousy.
Threw up in your mouth and lied reflects on pedagogical modes of performance and the disobedience that occurs in reaction. As is typical of Isabella’s practice she performs as a new character in this work, subverting the idea of the 'regular person' and stretching their capabilities through movement that confronts the abject and absurd. The piece considers street dancers, introspection and public embarrassment.
Jealousy is a band made by Skjold Rambow which draws inspiration from busking and Viennese Actionism. The music was developed alongside his solo exhibition of paintings Pharmacy currently up on display in Bolding Marylebone. ‘In Jealousy, I approach the word persona as a poetic idea: the person and the sound. Persona is the voice through which we become present to one another. When we communicate, it is not only the meaning of our words that matters, but the sound of our own voice and actions to recognize ourselves and connect with others.’
