Nele Bergmans Cyanotypes
Nele Bergmans has produced this set of four cyanotypes each as editions of five, available for purchase. Depicted in two of the prints is a Cobaea scandens flower, also known as cup and saucer vine. In the other two prints are sculptures crafted by the artist out of portland stone, a material typically used in construction. “I was drawn to the deep blue colour. And also to the darkroom process: the image only reveals itself once the liquids are flushed away.” The prints were produced onto thick textured paper rather than photo paper giving them a soft, tactile quality- somewhere between a photograph and a print.
