HIAR

HIAR is a new performance work reflecting ongoing research into written testimonies of state violence and the weaponisation of gender, specifically disciplinary methods used in women's prisons during the 80s in Northern Ireland. The intrusive intimate treatments, but also the practical resistance through objects and clothing.

Keira Fox is an Artist based in London, working with performance, improvisation, sound and props. She co-founded the performance duo New Noveta in 2012. She is also one part of the collective TLC23 founded in 2021. Fox’s work explores socio-political struggle, heightened through repetitive actions. She often uses domestic objects and characterizations of banal, everyday work and dress to amplify resistance via bodily penance. Collaboration is key to her practise, working with musicians and artists on productions. Recent exhibitions include: ‘PFED for Where are the Hackers?’ at Berlin Atonal (Berlin, 2025), ‘Wast has du mir angetan’ at Gropius Bau (Berlin, 2025), ‘Technoavoidancemanias,’ performance at Faun Festival with Rian Treanor, (Brno, 2024), ‘Peine forte et dure Performance’ for Teatro Bastardo Theatre Festival (Palermo, 2023) and ‘Steel My Heart’ performance for Sound of the City Festival at Tanztheater-Wuppertal (Wuppertal, 2022).
Louis Backhouse is an artist based in London. Backhouse makes work on ideas of the public, and gendered labour- often with a concentration on fabric, worn clothing and performative bodies. Recent exhibitions include ‘Was Hast Du Mir Angetan’ at Gropius Bau (Berlin, 2025) ‘Relationships with Waitrose Staff and Security,’ with Terminal Projects (London, 2024) and ‘Catwoman drawings’ at Galerie Tenko (Tokyo, 2024).
Vindicatrix is a producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, working mostly with electronics but also incorporating histrionic vocal improvisation, maudlin crooning, and composition for chamber ensemble. Previous releases can be found on Mordant Music, Scum Yr Earth, purge.xxx and Cellule75.
